US President Donald Trump says he feels relief after contracting COVID-19, describing it as a “blessing from God.”
Officials said Trump returned to the Oval Office on Wednesday, less than a week after his diagnosis.
His doctor, Sean Connelly, said that the president had not had symptoms of Covid-19 for more than 24 hours, and that he had not felt a high temperature for more than four days.
Trump said in a video on Wednesday that all Americans should have access to the treatments he’s received , he promised to supply Regeneron Pharmaceuticals’ medicines for free.
He said the experimental set of antibodies he received last week was a treatment, not a therapeutic measure, adding that hundreds of thousands of doses were nearly ready. But federal agencies have not yet approved Regeneron.
“This was a blessing in disguise – I received it. I heard about this medecine, and I said let me take it, and it was unbelievable,” the US president said, adding that he would seek urgent permits to use the medecine.
Trump did not miss the opportunity to renew his attack on China, telling the Americans: “You will not pay for this. It was not your fault. It was China’s fault. China will pay a heavy price. This was China’s fault.”
