Former US President Donald Trump left Fulton prison in the state of Georgia after a brief detention on charges of extortion and conspiracy. He surrendered himself and posted bail based on an agreement with the state prosecutor. Immediately upon his release, he condemned what he referred to as a “judicial farce,” describing the events as an “electoral intervention.”
The former president was released on bail with a sum of $200,000 after providing his fingerprints and taking mugshots.
The American network “CNN” mentioned that the date of surrender was determined through negotiations between Trump’s lawyers and the office of the district attorney of Fulton County last Monday. The written agreement between the two parties included commitments on the part of the former president and conditions for his release.
According to the agreement, Trump will be required to pay $200,000 or forfeit the amount from his funds if he fails to comply with the terms of the agreement. Additionally, as per the agreement, he will face orders not to send threatening messages through social media while awaiting trial in Georgia.
This action is a precursor to his trial on charges of attempting to manipulate the outcome of the 2020 presidential elections. This is the fourth criminal trial that Trump is facing as he seeks to run in the upcoming presidential elections and return to the White House
