Former US President Donald Trump launched, on Saturday, his campaign to re-enter the White House, months after announcing his intention to run for the elections scheduled for 2024.
Speaking to a small crowd at the annual meeting of the Republican Party in Salem, New Hampshire, before a scheduled stop in South Carolina, Trump insisted he was “excited to win” as he embarked on his third bid for the US presidency.
Trump attacked his successor, Joe Biden, and said that the current president “put our country on the path to destruction,” according to his expression.
He added, “We must end gang rule to preserve the dignity and capabilities of Americans.” He also criticized Biden’s border policy, saying: “For whose benefit are the borders of the United States opened to risks and threats?”
Trump also considered that “the US economy was the fastest growing,” and “during my era, reserves were controlled and production improved, unlike what is happening now.”
On the other hand, the former president warned against “changing the course of the upcoming elections, similar to what happened in 2020,” referring to his continuous allegations of fraud in the elections won by Biden.
Trump is scheduled to travel to Columbia, South Carolina, later Saturday, where he will unveil his leadership team in the state.
