A President to his citizens: Corona vaccine or jail

admin June 22, 2021

It seems that receiving a vaccine against the emerging coronavirus is no longer an option in the Philippines, after the president’s recent controversial statements, as usual.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has threatened to arrest those who refuse to vaccinate against the emerging Corona virus, and demanded them to “leave the country” if they do not cooperate with efforts to contain the epidemic.

Duterte, who is known for his stormy and boisterous lumberjacks, called the people  on Monday night on TV, expressing his indignation toward individuals who refuse to receive the vaccine and cause the epidemic to spread.

“Don’t misunderstand me,” he said. “There is a crisis facing this country. There is a national emergency. If you don’t want to get vaccinated, you will be arrested.”

“If you refuse the vaccine, leave the Philippines,” he added, adding that he will order village governors to prepare a list of residents who refuse to receive the vaccine.
